I love travelling. Being with nature....
There is so much you learn from travel....adjusting , patience and above all respect for others. When we travel we learn why the locals do a particular thing in a different way.
I shall tell you a incident from my travel diary...
this was a year back . My husband and I were in Manali. we decided to go Paragliding. For beginners we decided to go for the small jump. a climb of 15 minutes due to zilch experience of climbing a mountain , the uphill task seemed daunting. the locals boys used to run up in 5 minutes. We did it and it was beautiful.... the fear is not much because you know the pilot is there with you and you can sees the landing area ....that's cool! But flying like a bird is great and before you begin to enjoy it you are on the ground.
My husband said that's not enough , lets go in for a bigger one !
It was decided that we return for another jump the next day as the climb took about 2 hours.
The next day, Voila ! we were there on the said time. Excited for the jump , we began our climb...
10 min in the climb and I realised that this is going to be a huge task as the climb was steep, not gradual as the previous one, and having rained the previous night it was slippery too... my husband kept coaxing me to do it walking ahead He seemed in no discomfort at all . The more you climbed the mountain seemed to have grown too, I skidded, fell dragged myself somehow upwards. My husband and the local boy to assist us in the jump were very encouraging while I thought , "I must be out of my mind to actually go through this to finally jump from a cliff".
......but I carried on chanting all deities names and my husband would say, Are you going on an adventure trip or a pilgrimage, What ever Just keep climbing!.
About three forth way up, a dog joined us , it was very nice to see him climb and then wait for me to pass him so that he could resume his journey. He walked up all the way with me and when we reached there he slumped as though he had been carrying me all through. I looked at him and said Thank you and laughed.
Before I could gather my thoughts or breath , I found the the boys tying the harness around me for the jump. I asked to wait which they refused as the wind condition was changing , so we had to jump fast.
I remember asking some silly question and looking up to the guy in front to notice the T-shirt he was wearing, it read," IF YOU ASK STUPID QUESTIONS YOU WILL GET STUPID ANSWERS". Never before in my life had I wanted to eat the words I uttered.!
All set I was ready to jump of running of the mountain and for the first time I realised the height we were at, all I could see were pine trees looking like needles and ground no where at sight . We were at a cool 900o f height. the speed at which the mind was racing was tremendous.....I didn't want to jump . I felt fear for that few moments, I could feel my heart in my mouth during the run up. I simply closed my eyes , but could hear my husband screaming," its the most beautiful sight in the whole world, you are flying like a bird enjoy it too".
Slowly I opened my eyes to see what the birds see everyday, the earth so beautiful, the trees the mountains, the river it was actually breathtaking all my tiredness seemed to vanish. I thought that wonderful and the climb was worth it.
When I landed I was all smiles for that beauty was captured in my memory for ever. I was speechless. I waited to see my husband fly in the sky and he reached down , He too was quite and said There are no words to describe this........
This is the beauty of nature , we must make the most of it
